The Story Behind the Shirt

Conceived at a desert air race — pylons shimmering in the heat, restored racers and modern kit planes sharing one strip, spectators in linen under white umbrellas. The print crosses a pylon-course diagram with a winged GALLON roundel, drawn fine like a chart. Warm bone cotton, the colour of the desert floor at ten in the morning.
